I live in a tiny working waterfront village in Downeast Maine with my husband Brian and our pup, Isabel. I love our Maine home. The quiet pace, briny sea air, pine-scented woodlands, spectacular coastal views and friendly community all make this a perfect place to paint. Our peninsula is a feast for the painter’s eyes.
I paint what I love: the Maine coast, the working fishermen, domestic scenes, my family and the occasional beloved pet. I paint primarily in oil, but occasionally dabble in acrylics and gouache.
When I paint, my heart is full. I enjoy exploring unexpected color, light, and negative space and creating works that form an emotional connection with the viewer. I am mostly self-taught, but I have learned from many experienced artists at workshops over the years. I am an Elected Artist at Lyme Art Association.
If I am not in my studio, you might find me painting en plein-aire out at Schoodic Peninsula (part of Acadia National Park) or somewhere else in the local neighborhood.
I hope you enjoy my work.
My paintings are available through Littlefield Gallery, in Winter Harbor, ME. Tiny works are available at Swallowfield Shop in Northeast Harbor, ME.
